Name: Piety
Species: Kitsune; 5-Tail
Gender: Female
APPEARANCE
Soft pale lilac locks cascade down this 5'5” light-skinned beauty's thin-framed form, clad in a pure white miko robe lined with soft, navy blue along the edges – the tie being with a silver sash. A gentle gaze settles upon you with her cloudy-blue eyes – her lips barely parting as she whispers words of comfort and a request to follow her off the mountain. Her fingertips are like ice.
Of note are the silver-white furred fox ears protruding from her head of hair, as well as the five similarly colored velvety tails that dance behind her wherever she walks.
She wears a silver necklace in the shape an odd symbol - a set of four slots - two of which are sealed haphazardly by silver, one of which is an empty slot, and bottom occupied by her star ball.
She often carries a pastel parasol and folding fan, especially when venturing off the mountain, in order to fend off the heat and sun.

ABILITIES
- Short sword: Piety is decent with a short sword in combat, and keeps her blade hidden in her parasol, so she is armed at all times. Although skilled, she has rarely had to use this in actual combat, let alone to actually kill.
- Ice Magic: Piety is skilled with ice magic, and makes the wintery winds of the Darklights in a localized area dance to her whims. Generally, she uses these powers to temporarily stop any snowstorms as to clear the way for travelers as to guide them proper, but she can also use this for direct combat. Her magic tends towards incapacitating, eluding, or tricking opponents, including freezing limbs, blinding them with blizzards, freezing traps, or creating large ice walls to impede advancing predators.
- Blood of Sister, Chill of Death: Should her little sister be put in danger (or worse, die), Piety can tap into hidden reserves of reiatsu - tapping into this power greatly enhances her magic's potential for destruction, but also may end up killing her. She may be able to learn to tap into these powers safely, but only after a few more tails.
- Healing Magic: Piety is also skilled at purifying and healing individuals. What she cannot handle with magic, she can handle with training as a healer. Even should a person be on the brink of death, she can freeze them in order to transport them to somewhere where they can better get help.
- Illusions: Piety's illusions are top notch so long as she's in an area that has lower temperature – equivalent to a kitsune two tails higher. However, heat and fire tend to mess with the illusions she creates. As she gains more tails, these illusions will be able to endure fire and heat better.
WEAKNESSES
- Heatsick: While Piety is not 'weak' to fire, excessive exposure to heat can make her sick due to lack of exposure to it. Even slightly warmer than normal springtime climes can make her feel a little under the weather.
- Willfully Ignorant: Piety refuses to see the outside world as anything except corrupt and evil, although she does not condemn those that choose this lifestyle. This essentially ensures she is in a state of constant culture shock whenever she ventures off the mountains (if ever).
BACKGROUND
Born on the Darklights away from civilization, Piety was raised by her overprotective father and mother, who feared their offspring venturing off the mountains until they were guarded against the evils of the world, along with her younger sister.
However, one day, Li was kidnapped by demons seeking to sell her into slavery. And Piety left with her parents to go rescue their younger sister with the aid of some pirates – family friends who Piety's parents trusted. These pirates often relied on Piety's parents to shelter them from the authorities, as a long-standing relationship between the captain's ancestors and her parents.
They were successful, but at a cost. Father was killed, and mother was gravely injured. On her deathbed, she made a final plea: Stay on the Darklights, and make no contact with the outside world with the exception of the duties she was shown to do. The pirates were to protect them at all costs.
Piety's duties were to guide travelers across the mountains, ensuring no one died, as well as to occasionally hide the pirate crew from would be authorities. And while she made fast friends and was a great host to the pirates, she often chided them for telling stories to curious little Li, who was becoming increasingly fascinated by the outside world.
Piety is naturally very nurturing and motherly – perhaps too much so. Oftentimes, she will beg sick travelers to not leave the mountains, and be saddened when they choose to go back to civilization. Some have been tempted by her beauty, but eventually they all leave. Her heart has become hardened against goodbyes. It should be noted that the pirates will go after those that speak of her residence on the mountain.
The relationship between the pirates and Piety became strained when Lilaeni decided to join the pirates. However, Piety understood that these were her family's trusted friends, and gave them her hesitant blessing – with the caveat that if a hair is harmed on Lilaeni's head, she would tear them apart with a furious blizzard of the likes that the world has never seen.
