Species: Eastern Dragon
Name: “Granny” Ning Su
Gender: Female
Species: Eastern Dragon
APPEARANCE
Dragon: A majestic off-white scaled Eastern dragon with an aquamarine colored mane and golden horns, although slightly smaller in size than most Eastern dragons at 14.5 feet in height/length. When she speaks as a dragon, she sounds like a mature, though not quite elderly, lady with a tranquil amusement in her voice.
Human: A 4'10" lady, sometimes upright, sometimes hunchbacked, who walks with a cane, often giving a snaggly toothed grin with her hair in a bun. Often wears clean but simple robes, befitting her age. When she speaks, it is a cross between the creaking of a rocking chair and the doting of an aunt, which has earned her the name “Granny.”

ABILITIES
- Shifting Gene - Granny can shapeshift - most of the time, this is from dragon<->human, but she can take other forms as well. Most of the time, this is used to play small tricks or to entertain children. Shifting gene is in inventory.
- Elemental Magic: Earth/Water/Wind/Lightning manipulation. Specific Tricks/Application:
- Weather Manipulation [Water/Wind/Lightning] - Ning Su can conjure up unusual weather patterns if she needs to - hail, lightning, rain, and wind will come to her aid in localized areas. She also can minorly adjust the climate for extended periods of time, such as bringing rain to drought-ridden areas, although this requires her to stay for at least a week before any substantial results come of this that will last.
- Illusory Mist [Water/Wind] - Ning Su can conjure mist, which she plays around with in order to form convincing illusions of figures and effigies. Sometimes used for parlor tricks.
- "The Rod" [Earth] - Another parlor trick that she loves to do as an old lady is to tap things with her cane to make the earth quake in fear - sometimes even creating fault lines to race towards a mugger that stole poor granny’s purse. Some speculate that she does this to teach a lesson about pride and assumptions. Others (rightfully) assume it’s because she gets a kick out of seeing people’s expressions when granny kicks their butts with a tap of her cane.
- Aura of High Jinx - Parlor trick. Small effects that tend to create hilarity. Things like suddenly inconveniently placed roots and stones to trip up opponents, falling branches/ceilings, caving floors, inconvenient puddles, really strong gusts of wind at inopportune times…may or may not actually be an aura.
- Dreamwalk - Granny sometimes enters dreams to guide children away from nasty nightmares, or to help people find certain truths about themselves and their solutions.
- Seer - Granny sometimes acts as an oracle - for the most part, she tends to be wise enough to realize what people will buy and what people won’t, but she has been known to abuse this talent for small time gambling. Occasionally, she gets something earth-shaking, but she rarely announces them - for if it was truly earth-shaking, who would believe her?
BACKGROUND
In Vystriana, somewhere between the Gods’ Cavern and the Island of Rojimbo, close to the port where the ferry runs, is a tiny hut on a hill. It is said that there lives a little old lady.
Some say this old lady is a witch, who comes to curse the locales. Set a plague of locusts upon their crops, and spread pestilence to their firstborn.
These individuals tend to be raucous drunks that little Granny Ning Su taught a lesson.
Most speak highly of the little old lady who comes down from her hut to entertain the children and bring about good fortune for crops and to fend off threats. She aids other with her seer powers - small, trivial, but still appreciated acts, like locating lost pets and small items as well as minor matchmaking advice. She also cares for the night terrors of children and traumas of soldiers who come back from war through the practice of Dreamwalking - acting as a sort of spirit guide.
Those that she deems in need of a lesson are often plagued by misfortune - such as losing to her in games of chance. If nothing else, they learn that it is unwise to gamble against a fortune teller and a wise woman.
Rarely, she will allow others to see her form as a majestic Eastern dragon. She asks others keep this a secret. After all, it’s more fun when she gets to play the ‘helpless old lady’ schtick.
Those that have known her for a long time know her to try to keep away from world events, but also know that if something large looms over the horizon, she may know a thing or two about what is coming. However, Granny only tells those who she believes will be willing to listen.
It is said that she originated from Kurai - the realm of demons, but this is something she keeps from all but the closest of friends.

EXTRAS
Theme Songs:
Granny form: Unknown - Final Fantasy VI - Granny is more like a trickster sort than an old lady, and this song sticks out in my mind when I think of such sorts.
Dragon form: Those Who Are Shining - Legend of Mana and Flickering City of Destruction - Legend of Mana - I figure if/when Granny shows her true form, it's something a lot more tranquil yet majestic. The former is more of a 'reveal' moment, the latter is more of the general theme.
