Name: Lejean
Species: Jelly (Divine Gift)
Gender: N/A
APPEARANCE
Lejean is a pile of gelatinous color-changing goop with volume approximately equivalent to an infant, though this can vary to an extent. Upon what is commonly believed to be his face is a constant wide-eyed all-too-happy grin. Its speech is bubbly (pardon the pun) and upbeat, and it is rare to see a frown on his face unless one catches it in his moments alone.

ABILITIES
- Adaptability: Lejean's unique ability is to absorb the elements around it – either from environments or spells it is hit by. If it is exposed to multiple at the same time, it can mix and match for interesting, creative, combinations. This trait allows it to change his element and capability to match whatever it becomes. As an example, if it absorbs an earth magic spell in a watery environment, it can adopt a muddy consistency, giving it power over both earth and water reiatsu until the reiatsu it has absorbed fades (generally can last up to a full day assuming it is removed from the source of the element).
- Amorphous Body: Lejean's jelly body means it is able to fit into just about anything, or into anything. This makes it good for things like picking locks or infiltrating, though given its residue, it is not good at things like stealth.
- Magic: While Lejean's own reiatsu pool is limited, it is extremely adept at channeling reiatsu around itself. Used in conjunction with the “Adaptability” ability, Lejean often takes opponents by surprise given that it's just a mere jelly.
- Imitation is Flattery: Lejean loves to imitate what it sees and remembers – while it cannot imitate things like substance, it tends to mix and match shapes. As an example, one of its favorite forms is a unicorn-horned slime with big puppy dog eyes, to entertain kids.
- Split: Lejean can split and divide himself a finite amount of times – each split body is only a fraction as strong as Lejean is. It often uses this for tricks.
WEAKNESS
- Overload: Lejean's adaptability ability can burn itself out by adapting to too many things at once – this leaves Lejean exhausted and confused, and can even make it sick. It should also be noted that adaptability does not necessarily protect against the first hit – for example, if it is in a snow-form and it gets hit by a fireball, the snow-form's fire weakness will still come into play before it can properly adapt.
- Adventurer Fodder: It should be noted that Lejean is still just a jelly – while it has magic to rival mages, a dragon would scoff at the puny fireball before flambeing the poor slime. While Lejean is capable of taking punishment due to its unique physiology, its offense is horribly weak.
BACKGROUND
Lejean is a gentle soul. Even before it attained its divine gift, the jelly liked playing with children, and often could be found in alleyways performing for coins, for its blind child of an owner, giving it whatever coins it could manage.
One day, without warning, the abandoned building which the child in underneath caught fire. Without a second thought as to whether he was capable, Lejean dropped what he was doing and charged into the fire. The jelly should have been pudding.
Instead, the jelly found itself transformed by the flames – forged anew. It formed a shield around the child, guiding it with its voice to the exit – before realizing it was using language, and was somehow surviving the flames.
Yet, as the child escaped – the building tragically collapsed upon our little hero.
But y'know, the funny thing about jellies? They take blunt trauma really well. Kinda hard to bludgeon something that can make itself into a pancake. When it finally was able to pull itself from the burning rubble, it learned from rumors that the child had actually found a family.
But before it could find the child, the jelly was tricked by a shar – a man who owned a traveling freakshow. He had witnessed the event and the emergence of this...unique lifeform. An intelligent shapeshifting blob that worked as an entertainer? Essentially a walking – hopping? - balloon animal!
