APPEARANCE
Mune
Mune is a thickly armored mantis/beetle-like zirus - her exoskeleton is infused with divine metal, and works like plate armor, giving it a cream-white color laced with gold linings. Her back wings are built like a beetle’s backshell, with more vulnerable wings underneath. Unlike her sister, her sickles are massive - easily the size of many two-handed swords at about 4’-4.5' in length and much wider, lending themselves more to blocking and parrying. Mune's face is surprisingly humanoid, with the exception of the eyes being like shining yellow beads. A pair of antennae peek out from her helm structure - which is built into her natural exoskeleton. Mune is significantly larger than her sister at around 5’8” and much heavier. A horn adorns her head much like similarly formed beetles. Mune's weapon form is that of an absurdly large greatsword - about six feet long, and a foot wide. It is meant more for cleaving and crushing rather than precise strikes. |
Mura
A mantis-like zirus, few have had the opportunity to truly study Mura’s form, as she is often in and out of an area quickly, using the shadows to enter and retreat. When she does step out in public, she is often wrapped up in black bandage-like wrappings, concealing her slender form. Her legs/feet seem to be blades as well - this is not far from the truth, and how she is able to maintain such excellent balance in spite of her point-like feet is a marvel. In addition, she has dragonfly-esque wings which she can unfold at will to flit about the battlefield. Mura’s face takes a surprisingly human form, being extremely humanoid with the exception of the eyes being completely black large bead-like constructs. A pair of antennae protrude from the scarf that normally covers her face and head. Her torso is similar - humanoid in shape with a black exoskeleton shell lined with red markings similar to a black widow in style. Her sickles are possibly the most intimidating feature - adjustably sliding in and out of her arm at about two-feet in length - which makes for odd proportions seeing as Mura stands at about 5’ in height. As a weapon, Mura takes the form of an ebony katana with a serrated edge glowing with an eerie red light. Impossibly light, yet nigh-unbreakable, only the most bloodthirsty of wielders may utilize her. |

BACKGROUND
Mune and Mura are two of a set of triplets born to a unknown, powerful, ancient Zirus queen. During a war between Halgians and Demons, the land where the hive was located was caught in the crossfire between the two sides, and both Halgian and Demon attempted to conscript the triplets.
Mura was conscripted by the demons, and corrupted. Her sister, Mune, was saved by the Halgians. Masa, the third sister, was consumed by fire before either side could take her, along with their mother.
As the war raged on, Mura and Mune would find each other on the battlefield once more - Mura having become one with the demonic magic that had thoroughly corrupted her form, Mune becoming one with the traditional Halgian doctrine, which involved scouring the darkness.
However, their bond as sisters overwrote their indoctrination. Still sharing the hivemind of their mother, they both deserted their respective sides together - and they were hunted down, and killed.
It was then a wandering mythkiin weaponsmith of legendary skill, Lightshatter vo Goro Sengo found both broken exoskeletons, gasping their last. Immediately taking pity on both sisters, he recreated them both as spirit weapons, with a small twist - as a result of Mura’s corruption and Mune’s purified form, both of these essences would have to be incorporated into the building of the weapon. Thus, Mura’s form necessitated bloodshed, and Mune’s form necessitated that she be used in defense of the innocent. Failing to uphold such a code would not only result in the destruction of the weapon, but of the sister weapon as well.
Thus, Mune became a knight in the Vystrian Order of the Lions, swearing to protect the innocent. Having faith in Vystrian royalty to never guide her wrong, she works to find a way of granting her and her sisters liberty from the curses they face.
Mura became a legendary blade and assassin - an assassin that fed off the bloodshed of her victims. Mura takes no pleasure in this needless butchering, but sees it as a necessity. It is for this reason she takes up bounties, often directing her thirst towards the lowliest of scum.
Mune is a little more compassionate than her sister Mura. However, the years of war and sharing the trauma that her cursed sister feels have left her damaged as well, and even her laughter is tinted with a vague hint of pain. She often operates by the books, and only really lets herself go when she is with her twin, Mura, which is the only time she truly can smile without regret.
To those who are neither her sisters nor her victims, Mura is cold, aloof, and completely apathetic. Even to her sisters, Mura can only manage a vague shadow of a smile - having had to learn to sedate and numb her own emotions to avoid going mad with the amount of blood on her blades.
In spite of this, Mura cherishes her sisters deeply. Should a foe raise their blade against them, she will cut them down with a cold, ruthless efficiency that sends chills down some of the most coldblooded monsters.
Mune cares for her sisters as well - perhaps even more deeply than Mura cares for them. Even if she cannot kill as per her oath (example: reprisal for Mura taking a loved one's life), she will defend Mura with her own sturdy shell - if the curse would allow her to do it to the death, she would.
