Name: Marinox
Species: Nzani/Zirus
Gender: Male
Appearance: Marinox’s form is very humanoid in its presentation - while his six limbs are spindly, he often wears custom-fitted human clothing, as it is the only thing he enjoys about his human aspects. Wearing his father’s Nzani mask - sharp and angular, with a protrusion much like the upper-half of a beak, which conceals the bottom half of his face, decorated with a hawk motif. However, where the mask once had carved out feather-like structures, it has sinced been smoothed over to resemble that of a beetle’s wings. In addition, he tends to wear
Abilities:
Nurema Corspemail: Marinox wears the hollowed out repurposed exoskeleton of his mother as plating underneath any attire he might wear. The armor is exceptionally tough and light-weight. Oftentimes, Marinox may wear his attire over the suit, making him appear larger than he actually is.
Marionette Strings: Marinox’s thread is enchanted with his reiatsu, and make act as an odd form of telekinesis - making objects dance to his whim. While he is not skilled enough to multitask an army, he can wield several puppets with surprising effectiveness. If these threads are used on a powerful creature, it may fail via resistance and willpower of the target. However, corpses and inanimate objects are fair game.
Intelligent: Marinox has an uncanny brain, able to process multiple complex trains of thought at once - a true master at multitasking. He needs this when controlling multiple minds at once, though the more he splits his attention, the less complexly he is able to think with each. It is easier for him to direct a dozen creatures with one goal rather than two creatures with two different goals.
Brainmelting Venom: Marinox’s venom is very specific in application - upon being injected into the bloodstream, it disorients the victim for the next few hours - this weakens their resistance to Marinox’s magical thread. The more complex the target, the more venom and thread it will require to overcome the creature’s will.
Weaknesses:
Works Best Behind the Scenes: Marinox is not a direct-combatant - he is a puppeteer in both the figurative and literal sense. While he has some tricks and defenses, he has few ways of handling any skilled combatant due to pitiful direct offensive power.
History:
Marinox’s birth was the result of an odd pairbonding union between a Nzani male and a Zirus female. This zirus female was the leader of a hive called the Nuremborn - the Queen named Nurema. A queen of sharp wit, excellent tactics, and legendary ruthlessness, she sought to strengthen and unite Zirus-kind - and was known for being aggressive, but not violent in her dealings with other clans. Underneath her were several prominent sub-queens.
Marinox was not only her son, but one of her top advisors - and was infatuated and enamored by this idea. But he saw his mother's approach as too slow. And after a particularly heated argument regarding her approach to her vision, he murdered her, and consumed her corpse - via a ritual, he attempted to take her power over the hive for himself.
However, this ritual was not perfected, and many of the sub-queens, mortified by what he had done, attacked and/or abandoned him - and Marinox fled into the wilds.
It has been a century and a half since he had last been seen among zirus-kind - most of those who knew of him have since passed away, while Marinox has perfected his ideas for the ultimate Zirus hive. With only a handful of Zirus disciples underneath him, he seeks to finish what his mother could not.
While he loathes non-Zirus kind, he also has an inexplicable taste for mimicking their attire - which he has stolen off of trespassers’ cold dead bodies.
His mask is actually his father’s - since bleached bone-white from constant cleaning. It has also been modified to give slits for each of his other 4 eyes beyond the two main ones. The two on the side of his head - near the temples - allow for greater peripheral awareness. The two in front are the ones that he sees out of his mask with - allowing for depth perception. The last two are actually enchanted - each seeing through the eyes of whatever Marinox is manipulating.
