Name: Ra’habai
Gender: Female
Species: Faun
Appearance:
Garbed in fine magenta silks, a veil covering her mouth and nose and revealing only her emerald eyes and radiant blonde locks on perfectly sun-tanned flesh – a shade darker than her hair. In her usual working clothes, much is revealed by her magenta cloths – revealing her midriff, slender and toned, built for swaying rhythmically to a seductive pulsating beat. Her bottom half is that of a cream-hide goat, clothed in a nigh-translucent set of matching leggings – portions cut to reveal her well trained thighs. Throughout her performance, she offers a sweet, yet empty smile – like that of a porcelain mask.
Upon her limbs are pricey bangles, bracelets, anklets, and the like, all studded with valuable jewels, from only the finest of jewelers from faroff lands.
Abilities:
The Magic of Dance: Ra’habai’s main line of work is dance – her dances have magic comparable to high-end wizards/witches if not mage-level, though she must often choose to focus on performing or casting a spell – in other words, if she is working for Morgan, she has trouble summoning the reiatsu for a spell, as her emotional state keeps her from accessing that power. That said, even when performing, she is capable of a couple of parlor tricks to aid in her show – bending flame and causing sparks of light are common tricks. She does have the potential to use this for more practical purposes, but has yet to be afforded this opportunity
Healing: Ra’habai’s performances have a soothing effect on the beastly men (and women) that come to watch. Should she choose to channel her love into these dances, she is able to enhance the body’s ability to repair itself. Even when not focused, the audience finds themselves forgetting about chronic pain, illness, and the like.
Snakecharmer: Ra’habai’s abilities are comparable to wildwhisperers as well. However, to do this, she has to focus on the animal to charm it with her dance – it cannot be a ‘general use’ charm dance. In addition, she must have some knowledge of how the animal works – she cannot use this on creatures she’s never met before.
Elemental Affinity: Ra’habai uses mostly Earth-based magic, particularly those revolving around plants and flora. She also has an affinity for air magic.
Agile: With dancer-like grace comes some unique maneuvers used in dodging attacks. Even without combat-training, Ra’habai has both luck and grace on her side.
Weakness:
Emotional Instability: Ra’habai’s magic is closely tied with her emotional state. Optimally, if she is in a focused state, her magic goes off without a hitch. However, given trauma in her life, it may be hard for her to enter such a state, let alone keep it in the heat of combat.
Untrained Potential: As alluded to, Ra’habai has no combat nor magic training – therefore, most of the abilities have an unspecified amount of potential.
Fragile Flower: While Ra’habai is strong of spirit, she is physically frail in comparison to a soldier. It only takes a few solid hits to put her down.
Background:
Ra’habai’s family was poor in wealth, but rich in spirit. Where they had little in material resources, her father, her sister and her were inseparable. Oftentimes, her father would assist in a small company of a few fauns and satyrs.
Unfortunately, there is a saying - lay down with dogs and you wake up with fleas. And on one unfortunate night, her father was hanging around a couple of satyrs in the company who ended up causing trouble around Jes’re’en. The kind man that he was, Ra’habai’s father inadvertently allowed himself to be the fallguy for the crimes of his satyr friends - and refused to rat them out to the authorities. In order to save their father, Ra’habai’s older sister struck a deal with the devil known as Morgan Roth: she would serve him for all her remaining days, if only he would bribe the city to let her father go.
...but on the night that her older sister was to be taken, Ra’habai poisoned her sister’s drink with a weed that tranquilized her. By the time she woke, the only thing left of Ra’habai was a letter.
Morgan was not fooled, but was enticed - a younger little thing with even more of her life ahead of her to dance for and service his clients until her father’s debt was paid. And, funny thing about debts under Morgan, there always seemed to be more 0s tacked on somehow, someway.
Ra’habai has often dreamed of reuniting with her sister and father. And Morgan Roth has made a deal with her and a few of the other ‘employees’ - the “Trophy Hunt” - where the contestants are given a collar, and are sent into a manmade labyrinth where they are to be hunted (nonlethally - although violence is not out of the question). If they can avoid the hunter for the entire 24 hours, their entire debts are frogiven. However, if they are caught, their debts are doubled.
Ra’habai has competed in all of Morgan’s little games for as long as she has remembered. And each time, she feels hope just barely slip from her grasp. Morgan is always there, however, to reassure her that she is ‘his favorite,’ followed by a favor needing to be satisfied.
