The Calm Before the Storm
Izzuit Windshear
BASICS
Name: Izzuit Windshear
Gender: Male
Species: Elf - Drow
Name: Izzuit Windshear
Gender: Male
Species: Elf - Drow
APPEARANCE
Izzuit is of the younger drow generation, and has the traditional black skin with white hair - often a little tousled due to laziness of upkeep. He stands at 6’1” with a lanky, but toned frame - if he wears a shirt, it is often unbuttoned, as he complains the top one usually ‘chokes’ him. His irises are of a shining golden color, which his allies joke make him easy to see in the dark. Normally seen in very plain threads, it is hard to imagine him being of the lofty position he is, especially given his elven youthfulness.
Even when in decorated Champion gear or in threads of aristocracy, Izzuit still maintains his somewhat unruly appearance, his white locks often in disarray. It is not uncommon for someone to have to point out he forgot to flip a collar or something equally inane to him.

ABILITIES
- Wind/Water Reiatsu: Izzuit’s reiatsu control is limited compared to a dedicated mage, but better than the average drow’s - he often combines swordplay and magic to fairly devastating effect, utilizing the powers of wind to quicken and accelerate his attacks as well as deflect ranged attacks, while using water for limited healing spells as well as mist to conceal ambushes on the fly.
- Swordmaster: Izzuit is a natural with blades, and is skilled in melee combat. Few can match his versatility in a duel, as he is at home with a clash of metal just as much as he is fending off rapier strikes. He is even skilled to perform seemingly impossible feats, such as blocking individual arrows with his rapier or katana.
- Dragonrider: Izzuit is the rider of Santalmo, who he loves to call "Chili Pepper" or just "Pepper" - it is unknown whether he is aware that this is a cause of great ire and fire within her.
- Kurai-make Katana Runeweapon “Shattered Sky” - this blade was one of two three weapons, Izzuit had custom-created to commemorate his becoming a Champion. Shattered Sky’s runes signify “power, destruction’ and respond to his wind reiatsu - often resulting in focused slashes that obliterate and cleave anything foolish enough to mistake Izzuit’s sleepy gaze for incompetence. Although it takes a moment for him to focus for each, he can also project wind-based blade projectiles with a single slash, and focus more reiatsu over time for an even more powerful series of larger wind blade projectiles with variants on trajectory and approach.
- Rapier Runeweapon “Breeze Song”: The little brother of “Shattered Sky” - this rapier has runes for “grace, speed, agility.” While Howling Typhoon is his go-to weapon for straight up combat, Izzuit uses Breeze Song for evasive maneuvers, defense, and trickery. The runes allow for Izzuit to speed up, aid in nimble dodging. It also boosts his ability to conceal himself using mist.
- Kurai-Inspired Boomerang Runeweapon "Silent Kamaitachi": The odd one out of his arsenal, "Silent Kamaitachi" is made specifically for combat on the back of a dragon. The runes read: "guided, velocity, quiet." Shaped like the legendary Kurai fuma-shurikens - large four-pointed throwing stars of cutting death, Silent Kamaitachi is infamous on the battlefield for flying through the battlefield and taking a head or three before returning to Izzuit's hand as he rides in atop his dragon.
- “Don’t mistake my leisurely pace for slothfulness.”: Izzuit tends not to flaunt, and take the bare minimum effort to complete his tasks. In reality, Izzuit often comes prepared, and is full of surprises. His leather armor is packed with enough throwing knives for surprise attacks in case he manages to be disarmed, and when most others are running out of supplies, he seems to always have brought “a spare.” Lastly, opponents tend to underestimate him simply because he moves with such an unhurried attitude.
WEAKNESSES
Jack of All Trades, Master of None: As Izzuit combines all his talents so fluidly, this leaves him with very few actual awesome strengths. His magic, though impressive for someone who lacks intense training, is somewhat amateurish compared to a dedicated mage. And while his swordplay is formidable, it is mostly due to the fact that he can shift styles if he needs to - in a katana vs sword battle of brute strength against an orc, he will be forced to shift to a rapier as he lacks the physical strength. A speedy fencer who specializes in quick strikes will force him to rely more on trickery with his reiatsu. And a trickster will make him pull out all the stops with swift and strong katana-play. And so forth. Therefore, in straight up contests, it is likely Izzuit will lose.

BACKGROUND
Izzuit is a drow born into nobility who hated the noble life. Early in his life, on a sojourn abroad, he looked up, and saw the birds of the sky.
“I want to live free like the birds of the air.”
When he was old enough to make his own decision, he threw away all ties to his life of nobility. Disowned by his family due to his decision, he set about as a vagabond.
Having bonded with Caele and Arnus as well as having met an ally in Verridith, they were tasked with early scouting involving Snakekind. And while Caele would always prod about his friend’s awkward and slow pace, Izzuit often proved that slow and steady could prove quite formidable.
Given the rise of the Faction and the Vystrian forces in disarray, Izzuit has risen in rank quickly, proving that his tranquility in the storm that seized Felnova was of great value to Verri. Whereas even the most hardened of oaks get yanked up by their roots, Izzuit simply sways slightly in the wind.
Although he is part of the council, he has a nasty habit of being truant or tardy unless he is absolutely needed. Still, he seems to have an uncanny knack for knowing when the Council is on their last nerve with him, and showing up with just the right word or piece of advice, proving why he was chosen for such a critical position. Furthermore, he is excellent at getting soldiers to open up - while he is no leader, he serves as an invaluable resource for any of the generals of the Felnovian knights, with his nigh encyclopedic knowledge of what each knight’s dream is, what their quirks are, and what their favorite alcoholic drink may be, if any.
Those that work closely with Izzuit often quickly realize that although he likes to appear to float through life like a breeze, the man is dedicated to the well-being of his fellow knights, so long as they give him enough space to breathe every once in a while.
It is perhaps for this dichotomy that he has earned the trust of a seemingly difficult-to-ride dragon known as Santalmo, who he affectionately terms "Pepper."

BASICS
Name: Santalmo / "Pepper"
Gender: Female
Species: Dragon - Heartwoodian Red
Name: Santalmo / "Pepper"
Gender: Female
Species: Dragon - Heartwoodian Red
APPEARANCE
Santalmo is a 15 foot tall behemoth of a Heartwoodian red - her scales coursing with red hot magma, and her breath like watching a volcanic geyser. With massive, intimidating wingspan and rock-like protrusions spiking out from all along her body, "The Raging Wildfire" Santalmo strikes fear and terror into those that behold her.
When Santalmo speaks, it is often in a harsh spattering of rapidly spewed hot embers consisting of curses and insults which are hurled like fireballs at whoever is unfortunate enough to have looked at her the wrong way. Even when content, Santalmo speaks in such a rapid fashion that can make her hard to comprehend.

ABILITIES
Dragonbreath: Santalmo's dragonbreath is, predictably, the Heartwoodian Red's legendary fire breath. Able to sear right through most rocks, it is no wonder that her rider often leads the charge in sieges, as they often burn away cannon fodder like much chaff.
Warcry: Santalmo's very roar is a weapon - the sheer volume of Santalmo's cry often blows enemies away and sends less-steeled troops fleeing in terror. In addition, her roar summons lava geysers if there is any nearby source available.
Draconic Strength: Dergstrong, dergtuff.
Speedy: While most dragons are speedy in the air, Santalmo is not only a powerhouse with her breath, but a top dog-dragon-fighter to pilot. Flying loops around your average dragon is no problem with Santalmo.

WEAKNESSES
"Chili Pepper, not CHILLY Pepper": Santalmo hates the cold. Even flying through icy weather, one will often hear her kvetching at her rider the entire way. Let alone when ice is magicked at her. Water also dampens her spirits.
Size: Yeah, you're kind of a bigass target, Santalmo...just sayin'. No, it's not a comment on your weight...
Easily Provoked: Santalmo is a temperamental beast to say the least, and while Izzuit's presence can counteract this, she is still hard to tame.

BACKGROUND
Santalmo was a prideful young dragon ridden by a great Felnovian knight. However, in one particular battle, Santalmo's rider was knocked off Santalmo after a spell blasted her from the sky. As the rider stared at the point of the sword, he severed the link before he was slain. While it saved Santalmo's life, it scarred her - and, more immediately, it left her writhing in pain.
It was then Izzuit showed up and defended her until the enemy had fled. After the battle, broken and saddened, Izzuit remembered the bond of Talos and Caele - two of his closest friends - and realized just how much she was suffering. Although, the first words out of his mouth were not the most graceful.
"I'm gonna call you 'Pepper."
...okay so they outright caused fire and brimstone to rain from the sky. However, in spite of his apparent obliviousness, Izzuit was what Santalmo needed - and she tolerates the name "Pepper."
As a result of the battle, she is extremely protective of Izzuit, although she will sometimes blow smoke in his face to show that she disapproves of his shenanigans. They argue a lot - or rather, Pepper rants at him a lot, rapidly yelling at him in what seems to be very angry gibberish and sputtering. But while their bond is odd, it is strong.
